SUMMARY:Brigsby Bear
DESCRIPTION:Brigsby Bear – (dir. Dave McCary\, written by Kyle Mooney)\nWest Mall 7 Theatres – Doors Open 6:00pm – Film Begins 6:30pm\nTRT: 97 min\nRating: PG-13\nGenre: Comedy \nStarring: SNL‘s Kyle Mooney\, Mark Hamill\, Claire Danes\, Greg Kinnear\, Andy Samberg \nFilm Summary: A Sundance 2017 selection\, this film is a true indie dramedy that earned much buzz and affection in Park City. The show “Brigsby Bear Adventures” is a children’s television program produced for an audience of one: James Pope. When the series abruptly ends\, Pope’s life changes forever as he sets out to finish the storyline himself. To do that\, he must learn how to cope with the realities of a new world that he knows nothing about. \n \nWhat the critics are saying: \nThe biggest jolt is how each laugh brings forth more feeling in a movie that flirts with tragedy but opts for joy. \n– Manohla Dargis\, New York Times \nIt’s a sweet and sometimes delightful melancholic story of a lonely man saved by imagination and love. That sounds like a bushel of cornball…if the director didn’t lead from the heart. \n– New York Times Critic’s Pick \nKyle Mooney (SNL) and co-writer Kevin Costello poke fun at cheesy children’s programs like ‘Barney & Friends’ or ‘Teletubbies’ that drill moral lessons into simplistic everyday conundrums. \n– Chicago Tribune \nScrappy and modest though their movie may be\, it all coheres beautifully\, and with a sweetness that never feels faked. \n– Los Angeles Times \nThis dramedy from several SNL veterans has a pretty strong case of the cutes…at the same time it’s genuinely imaginative and sweetly likable. \n– Common Sense Media \nALL TICKET SALES ARE FINAL.
